Candle Care

An elevated, handcrafted candle deserves thoughtful care to perform at its best.

Below are a few simple guidelines to help you enjoy a long, clean, and safe burn.

1. Prepare Your Space

1. Prepare Your Space

  • Place your candle on a stable, heat-resistant surface.
  • Use a coaster, stand, or tray to protect delicate materials such as wood, stone, or lacquer finishes.
  • Keep the candle clear of flammable objects and materials.
  • Always position candles out of reach of children and pets.
2. Light the Candle

2. Light the Candle

  • Use a long match or lighter to safely ignite the wick.
  • For the first burn, allow the entire surface of the wax to melt into an even pool (typically around 3–4 hours depending on the fragrance). This helps prevent tunneling and supports an even, consistent burn for future use.
  • A slight wisp of smoke when the wick is first lit is normal.
3. While Burning

3. While Burning

  • After the initial burn, avoid burning the candle for more than 4 hours at a time.
  • Never leave a lit candle unattended.
  • Do not move the candle while the wax is hot, whether lit or recently extinguished.
  • Keep the candle away from open windows, vents, or drafts.
  • Leave at least 10 cm (4 inches) between multiple candles.
4. After Each Use

4. After Each Use

  • Extinguish the flame with a snuffer to avoid splashing hot wax.
  • Once the candle is fully out, gently re-center the wick.
  • Before relighting, trim the wick to 3–5 mm to maintain a clean burn and reduce smoke.
